The role of the IMO is to create a fair and effective regulatory framework for the shipping industry, promote technical cooperation in shipping among States, and encourage States to adopt uniform standards in promoting maritime safety, improving the efficiency of ship navigation, and preventing and controlling Marine pollution from ships.

The global forum for intellectual property services, policy, information and cooperation, its mission is to lead the development of an effective international intellectual property system that is inclusive, so that innovation and creativity benefit everyone. WIPO helps governments, businesses and societies realize the benefits of IP by providing a policy forum to develop balanced international IP rules for a changing world.
